Meet Our Staff - Anthony Agostino

Anthony Agostino

Host, Newswatch @ 5:30

Anthony is a Kingston boy who has spent his entire life in the Limestone City, with the exception of the four years he spent living in Toronto while attending the Journalism program at Ryerson University. During his time at Ryerson, Anthony was part of the varsity hockey team and worked behind the scenes at The Score. He made the move in front of the camera and back to his hometown when he became a news videographer at CKWS in 2001. After a year and a half in news and anchoring sports on the weekend, Anthony moved over to Newswatch @ 5:30 to become the show's host and producer. He has a very hands-on approach to hosting and has had many first experiences on the show including, skydiving from 10-thousand feet with the Skyhawks, Repelling from a three story building with the Kingston Police, helping put out a fire with Kingston Fire & Rescue during training, received a personal figure skating lesson Shae-Lynn Bourne and played in a charity hockey game with local legends Kirk Muller & Doug Gilmour.

Anthony loves spending time with his wife and young son Angelo enjoying everything Kingston has to offer from festivals, walks along the waterfront to skating in market square. When he isn't spending time with his family, Anthony enjoys playing hockey and soccer, and has recently taken up running and is training to for the 2007 Hawaii International Marathon. He is still waiting for his Maple Leafs to win the Stanley Cup, but he's not holding his breath. He is grateful he has at least been able to cheer one team in blue to two cup victories in his lifetime (Italy's World Cup victories in '82 & '06).
