Bill Hutchins
Anchor, Newswatch @ 6:00
Bill has been in broadcasting for 25 years, starting when typewriters were still in fashion and cell phones weighed 20 pounds. He worked at Toronto radio stations CKEY, CFRB and MIX-99 until he came to Kingston and joined CKWS-TV in 1990 as a reporter. In 2007, he marks 10 years anchoring Newswatch @ 6.
During his career, Bill has reported on a variety of stories; the G-7 Summit in Toronto, Royal visits, the ’98 Ice Storm and summer blackout are memorable. Covering the Leafs during the Ballard years was painful. Every day is an adventure or one long city council meeting, or both.
During down time, Bill enjoys hanging out with his family, watching action movies, and drinking too much coffee.
