GOING THROUGH A MAJOR HEALTH ISSUE CAN HAVE A MAJOR IMPACT ON SOMEONE'S LIFE.

BUT ONE LOCAL KINGSTON WOMAN IS TURNING HERS IN TO A POSITIVE, BY ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO BECOME DONORS.

NEWSWATCH'S BRADEN DRAGOMIR TAKES US INSIDE THE "SO SO MUCH HOPE" CAMPAIGN.You might think Missy Deyo looks like any other 25 year old woman, but she's been fighting hard for the last two years, trying to keep her kidneys functioning properly.

 Missy

"I thought I just had a kidney infection or something, so I went to the emergency room, and it turned out that I had like a couple dozen kidney stones that were quite sizeable, and they said I was just full of kidney stone gravel."

Since then, Deyo has had 19 surgeries in just over 2 years, the most recentto put in

this nephrostemy bag, to help her kidney drain properly.

In just a few weeks, she hopes the 20th with be the one that works.

 Missy

"I've had about a surgery a month to try and keep my kidney draining, and they have tried absolutely everything, to save my kidney, so it's been quite a journey, but finally we need to remove it."

And while some people might use their illness to shy away from any attention, Deyo is using her over 8000 twitter followers, and her blog, to share her story,

while encouraging people to donate blood and sign their organ donor card

Which is why she has also started the "So So Much Hope" Campaign.

 Missy

"It started last night around 7 o'clock, and the blog went live, and I tweeted it out and put it on Facebook and it's been an immediate response.

There have been hundreds of people retweeting the information and signing up."

 Braden Dragomir:

"To check if you're a donor or to register, you can go to beadonor.ca, or to donate blood, it's as simple as finding one of the mobile clinics, or coming here to the permanent clinic."

 And Canadian Blood Services

says a campaign like this, can help thousands of people who need blood for their surgeries

. Serrah Koeslag - Community Development Coordinator

"When we hear stories like this where other people are going out and campaigning and trying to get other people involved, it usually has a really good impact on our clinics as most people will say that the reason why they donate is because of somebody who's close to them."

Deyo hopes over the next year, she can get 1000 people to

donate the gift of life.... On the first day of her campaign, over 40 people have already signed up .
