IT'S BEING CALLED THE MOST BEAUTIFUL KINSMAN DREAM HOME TO DATE.
THE ANNUAL LOTTERY IS NOW UNDER WAY WITH THE GRAND
PRIZE BEING A TWO STOREY HOME.
NEWSWATCH'S MELISSA NAKHAVOLY TOOK A TOUR OF THE HOME LOCATED
IN KINGSTON'S EAST END.
A silver anniversary for the Kinsmen Club of Kingston. And to celebrate, the organization's
Dream Home lottery is back with it's most impressive prize.
22-hundred square feet of luxury... 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and this special feature... a women's dreamwalk in closet.
Ryan Hanes is the Chair of the lottery.
He says in it's 25 years, the Kinsmen Club of Kingston has donated over 4 million dollars to local charities.
Hanes
"A few of the things we've done is we've donated 225-thousand-dollars over the past three years to the Kingston General Hospital tot he Kinsmen Youth General mental health ward. We've donated over $100,000 to at risk youth to various day and residential camps".
But the Kinsmen couldn't do it alone - the dream home
in Greenwood Park East
was built with the help of builders, Marques Homes.
Diana Marques
"We've been a builder in Kingston for over 30 years and we think it's important to stay involved in the community especially with a charity organization and we think it's nice to keep a local builder involved in the Kinsmens. So when they approached us we agreed. We were happy."
Melissa Nakhavoly
"The chances of winning this home is actually quite great. Only 5000 tickets were printed out - making the chances of course - 1 in 5000."
Hanes
"The best part of doing what I do, a side from the satisfaction of raising money is getting to call the winners and tell them. Last year winners I left a voice mail but I got some of the secondary prize winners on the phone. Everyone is super excited so it's really great."
The home will be showing every weekend - and so far Marques said the response has been overwhelming.
Marques
"It's beautiful. We're really really pleased. We hope everyone else is really pleased with it. it's showing much more than we we anticipated.'
And if you're looking to call this your home sweet home - tickets will be sold right now to the draw date in April.
